Software Engineer/Developer
We, at the division for Computational Radiology & Clinical AI (CCIBonn.ai) at the University Hospital Bonn / University of Bonn (PI: Philipp Vollmuth – Full Professor of AI in Medical Imaging), are seeking applications for Software Engineer positions to support our software platform team. Our research group has consistently contributed to leading journals and conferences, and we are developing various tools to support our research projects. You can check out our work on our GitHub organizations (OpenRadX and CCIBonn). You will be part of a dynamic team that bridges the gap between cutting-edge AI research and clinical application, ensuring that our software tools are robust, efficient, and user-friendly.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software applications for computational radiology and medical AI.
- Program backend and frontend code for tools like ADIT (Automated DICOM Transfer Tool) and RADIS (Radiology Report Archive and Discovery System).
- Work closely with researchers and clinicians to implement and enhance application features.
- Write technical documentation.
Your Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in web programming and expertise in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with tools and frameworks such as Django, pytest, PostgreSQL, and Docker is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical imaging data, DICOM standards, and/or NLP is considered a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
